Jeanette Lynn (Dillon) Sooy

With broken hearts, the family of Jeanette Lynn Sooy (nee Dillon) "Netters" announces her passing on April 2, 2026. She was 43 years old. 

Jeanette was born in Philadelphia on April 11, 1982 and was a lifelong resident of the Kensington section of the city.

Jeanette was a deeply loving person whose kindness touched everyone around her. She had a remarkable way of making others feel accepted, never judging anyone, and always offering warmth, laughter, and a reason to smile. She found joy in bringing family together, whether it was for a simple gathering or sharing something as humble as a sloppy Joe sandwich—what mattered most to her was being surrounded by the people she loved.

Jeanette had a creative spirit and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, from coloring and bubbles to a comforting plate of mashed potatoes. She appreciated the little things that made life sweet and meaningful. Above all else, she cherished her family wholeheartedly. Her greatest love was for her children, who meant everything to her, and she took pride in the love and connection she built within her family. Her presence, laughter, and loving heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Jeanette is the devoted mother of Eric E. Sooy and Olivia Rose. Beloved fiancé of Neil Rose. Spouse and dear friend Eric R. Sooy. Loving daughter of Edward and Joyce (nee Harris) Dillon. Dear sister of Edward "Eddie" Dillon, Charles Dillon IV and Tiffany Dillon. Cherished aunt of Chassity, Jayden, Alexis, Isabella, and Addilyn. Sadly missed by her aunt Shelly Harris, her uncle Michael Harris and her extended family. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate her life Wednesday April 8, 2026 beginning at 6pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by her funeral service at 7:30pm.
