Joan was born in Phladelphia to the late Peter and Leona Pittner Cormican. Joan was stricken with Cerebral Palsy as an infant, and spent her early years with her parents in Kensington. When they passed away she lived with her sister Lee and her family.
Joan was a happy person and was appreciative of anything that anyone did for her, both big and small. She was always with a smile on her face. Lee and Joan were like twins and spent the last 50 years together.
In addition to her devoted sister, Lee Gilbert Simonish, Joan will be sadly missed by three generations of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Gather and Celebrate Joan's Life on Saturday April 29, 2023, starting at 12 Noon and participate in her Memorial Service at 1 PM, in Kingdon Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4450 Oakland Street, Building 'A', Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19124.
For those who would like to join in the service online it will be available on
