Joan was born in Philadelphia to the late Bernice Beach Costello on March 18, 1970. She passed away at Nazareth Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Joan was a longtime employee of the SunRay Drug Store at Broad and Jefferson Street. Always one to try her luck, she enjoyed playing the lottery and bingo, scratch-offs, and an occasional trip to the casino. Above all, Joan cherished any time she could be with her family. She will be forever missed and loved by all those in her life.
She is the beloved wife of Thomas E. Watson. Devoted mother of Kevin Leisey, Anthony Bilger (Lisa) and the late Frank Leiva. Loving Grandmom to Anthony Bilger Jr. and Emily Lehr Bilger. Dear sister of Theresa Vanskiver, William Costello, Patricia Holton, Helena Costello, Amber Quinlan and the late Suzie Costello. She will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Wednesday April 2, 2025 beginning at 6pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by her funeral service at 8pm. Interment private. In honoring Joan's love of the color purple, the family asks that all those in attendance wear something purple if you are able. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests and deeply appreciates any contributions towards her unexpected final expenses at the link provided below.
