Joanne was born in Philadelphia to the late Andrew Dehel, Sr. and Dolores Knast Dehel. She passed away Friday surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from Holy Name of Jesus Parish School and John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls in 1963. Joanne was the owner and operator of Today's Craft's in Fishtown in the 80's and worked for Fiserv Securities as a processor. She enjoyed crafting and scrapbooking.
Joanne is the beloved wife of James Lavin, Sr., devoted mother of Joanne Giulian ( Mike ), Dennis Shane ( Carolina ), Christopher Shane ( Mary Frances ), James Lavin, Jr. ( Bette ) , Gerald Lavin ( Susanna ) and William Lavin ( Sharon ). She will be sadly missed by her 10 Grandchildren, siblings, many nieces, nephews along with other family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral on Wednesday January 27, 2021 beginning at 9:45 AM, in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Fishtown. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM . Interment Resurrection Cemetery. For those desiring and, in lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully requesting memorial contributions to Holy Name of Jesus Parish at the address below.
