John T. Flynn

John T. Flynn, age 68, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Thomas and Mary (nee Creed) Flynn. 

John loved to cook and was a true foodie who enjoyed both eating and sharing photos of his dishes with family, a passion that kept him closely connected to them. He also loved gardening and took great pride in his vegetable garden. 

John was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Mummers and especially enjoyed attending the parade to watch the Fancy Brigade. Highly intelligent and always in tune with world events, John was known for his happiness and great sense of humor. He loved people, and everyone who met him liked him. Above all, he deeply loved his daughter and family.

John is the devoted father of Dawn Flynn and Patrick Pote. Loving P-Pop to Gavin, Paige, Ireland, and Patrick. Dear brother of Kathy Flynn-Fiore, Mary Flynn-Feerrar (Bill), Kenneth Hirst, Edward Hirst (Princessa), Mark Hirst, and the late Daniel Flynn. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and also his furbaby Molly. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation and funeral Saturday January 10, 2026 beginning at 11am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at the address listed below.
