John Willie Leonard

John Willie Leonard, age 53, loving father of three and devoted husband to Shawna Denise Leonard, passed away on the 27th of July, 2022 due to heart complications.  John was born on July 10, 1969 in Clinton, North Carolina to the late Robert Lee and Brownie Lee Autry Leonard. After losing his mother at an early age, John moved to Pennsylvania to live with his sister and her family ( Barry and Louise Smith ). John learned about Christ at an early age. He attended church regularly and became a member of Second Baptist Church of Frankford, Philadelphia, PA, where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior. 

John received his formal education in Sampson County, North Carolina School District and graduated from  Cheltenham  High School in Wyncote, PA. in 1987. Immediately after graduating , John enlisted in the Navy. He furthered his education at Temple University.where he completed two years of higher education, In addition, he also attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Camden  NJ, where he received his Certification in the field of electronics.  He married Shawna Jackson in April 1989 and together they had 3 girls, Ciara, Cheyenne and Crystal.  John's talents and skills introduced him to several job opportunities: Albert Einstein Hospital, North American Telecommunications ( NATC ), RCN cable company, entrepreneurship in Real Estate flipping houses, home remodeling and general contracting.  His present career was with Ericsson Telecommunications as a wireless cell phone technician.  

John was and is a loving, caring, hardworking, funny and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.  He welcomed generations of family and friends to enjoy unparalled services, banter and laughter. John enjoyed, in his pasttime, watching movies, playing spades, board games, video games, traveling and spending time with his family. John was innovative and full of ideas: always willing to share with anyone who would listen.  John's presence and charisma made a significant impact on all to came to know and love him. 

We know we can't have you, but we are happy knowing that the angels have you back. As we surrender you into the Father's keeping, we are grateful for the years we shared life with you. John was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

John leaves to cherish her memories to his loving and devoted wife, Shawna Leonard, his children;Ciara, Cheyenne and Crystal Leonard. His siblings; Louise ( Barry W. ) Smith, Daisy Mae ( Jeffrey ) Smith, Mary E. ( James IV ) Peterson, Dorothy L. ( Vernon ) Royal, Brenda L. Leonard and Brother in law Willie Dickens.  Mother and father in law Gloria ( James,Sr. ) Jackson, sister in law Sheri Jackson, brother in law James Jr. ), Nicole Jackson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.
