John T. 'Jack" Connelly

September 2, 1954 ~ March 18, 2020 (age 65)

Jack was born in Philadelphia to the late John J. and Madeline McLaughlin Connelly. He passed away at his home after a lengthy illness.

He graduated from Ascension elementary school Class of '68 and went on to graduate North Catholic Class of '72.  Jack was an employee of the United States Postal Service for 25 years.  He was stationed in the Port Richmond branch and retired in 2006.  He was an avid sports fan and followed the Philly teams he was also a half-ball player. Jack also enjoyed spending time in North Cape May.  Jack was quite the conversationalist and was known for his dry sense of humor. As his brother in law Dennis Corkery says,  " It was a pleasure to hold a converstion with Jack ".         

Jack is the loving husband of Anne ( nee Corkery ). Devoted brother of Madeline Goslee ( the late Robert ), William Connelly ( Carol ) and Suzanne Schectman ( David ). He will be sadly missed by two generations of nieces and nephews and all who knew him.  

Relatives, friends and employees of the US Postal Service Port Richmond Branch are invited to his graveside Christian Burial Service ,  at 11 AM , on Saturday October 24, 2020, in Resurrecction Cemetery, Bensalem PA.  The procession will gather inside the front gate at 10:45 AM.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne Church when people will be free and comfortable to gather and celebrate Jack's life, 

Donations in Jack's memory may be made to the  University of Pennsylvania Liver Transplant Institute, 3400 Civic Center Blvd, Phila, PA  19104 or Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Phila., PA   19111.
