Gallagher Jr. (Beth), Ree Whartnaby (Jimbo), Carol Ann Marinucci (Don), Pat Gallagher, and John "Porky" Gallagher (Michelle). Loving Pop of Joey III, Sean, Danny, Jimmy, Madison, John, Taylor, Michael, Fiona, Catherine, Anthony, Brady, Aiden, Lauren and great grandpop of John, Joey IV, and Shay. Dear brother of Mary "Annie" Francisco, James Gallagher, Francis Gallagher, Charles Gallagher (Anna), Elsie Shaw, Nancy "his identical twin" Bosak (Walter), Thomas Gallagher (Carol), and the late Robert Gallagher, John Gallagher, Helen Baranowski, and William Gallagher. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Philadelphia to the late John and Viola (nee Buck) Gallagher. He was raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia in an Irish Catholic family made up of 11 brothers and sisters. Joe remained in the neighborhood ,after marrying the love of his life Dale, to raise his own family. He worked hard as a truck driver and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 107 and 500. When not working he devoted his time to youth sports coaching football for Cione and baseball for PAL, where he took his team to the State Championship at Veteran's Stadium. He also liked to gamble and enjoyed occasional trips to the casino. Joe's greatest joy came from his family. He loved them deeply and always looked forward to time spent together, especially during the holidays. His favorite was Thanksgiving. Joe will be remembered as a loyal family man who held on to the values that are sometimes lost in our society such as hard work, love of family, enjoying time with friends, and always having "one for the road".
