Joseph F. Gereaghty Of North Wildwood, NJ formerly of Fishtown passed on December 31, 2020 at the age of 96. Retired DA County Detective for the city of Philadelphia. Beloved husband of the late Anna F. (Née Mohollen). Devoted father of Bunny Dymowski (Ed), Joseph Gereaghty, and Diane Maguire (Mike). Loving Pop of Ed (Anna), Joe (Cindi), Bill (Barbara), Joe (Kris), and Dan (MaryKate). Sadly missed by his 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dear brother of the late John, Mary, Bonnie, Aggie, Peg, and Mick. Joe was a United States Navy veteran who served his country during World War II. He loved his family very much and enjoyed his time spent as a member of various organizations such as the International Police Association (Past President),Cape May Emerald Society, Knights of Columbus 2572, Wildwood Elks Lodge 1896, Wildwood Moose Lodge 585, and North Wildwood Memorial VFW 5941. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Thursday January 7, 2021 from 9:45-10:45 in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street (at Berks)Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral Mass 11am. Burial with Military Honors Friday January 8, 2021 at 9:30am sharp in Washington Crossings National Cemetery.
