Joseph "Big Joe" Gormisky, Jr.

Joe was born in Philadelphia to Dorothy M. ( nee Gruber ) and the late Joseph Gormisky.  He passed away unexpectedly at Nazareth Hospital. 

Joe was a hard worker for his entire life. He worked for Lainiere DC Picardie for 20 plus years.  In his down, time he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and watching the Eagles. One of his favorite past times was his shopping trips to 5 Below with his grandchildren. His family meant the world to him.  Big Joe would always be there to lend a helping hand and would gladly give you the shirt off his back if you were in more need.  He will always be remembered for his heart of gold and will be missed by all and never be forgotten by all who knew him.

Joe was the beloved husband to the late Joan . In addition to his mother, he is survived by and the devoted father of Joseph, III and his daughter in law Melissa.  Loving Pop to his grandchildren Arionna, Emily, Isabella  and Mackenzie.   

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Monday November,15 2021 beginning at 9:30 AM in the McEvarr Funeral Home, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown.  His Service of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM.  Joe will be laid to rest with his beloved Joan and dear father at Magnolia Cemetery.
