Joseph W. Harris Jr. passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2024 at the age of 60. He was born on December 17, 1963 to the late Joseph W. Sr. and Marie (nee Verbitski) Harris.
Joseph was a lifelong resident of the Kensington section of Philadelphia. He loved his neighborhood and was often spotted riding his scooter throughout the streets, talking and joking with those he met along the way. A simple guy at heart, Joe spent his time fishing or visiting Wildwood, his happy place. He was also a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, especially of his beloved Eagles. He celebrated with them when they won the Superbowl and mourned their loss with actual tears. Joe will always be remembered as one of the good guys who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be greatly missed but his family takes comfort that he will be reunited in heaven with his loved ones who have gone before him.
Joseph is the beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Sosnowski). Devoted father of Alicia (Matt D'Imperio), Michael (Jessica), and the late Joey. Loving Pop of Joseph Rayner. Dear brother of Mary Orr (John), Edward Harris, and Billy Harris, Loving uncle of John Orr, Jennifer Hendricks, Nicole Orr, and John Sosnowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday October 11, 2024 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 11am.
