Joseph H. Harvey

Joseph H. Harvey passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Philadelphia on July 16,1936 to the late George and Loretta (nee Gangloff). 

Joe lived in Philadelphia throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Peg, and they raised their children in the Kensington section of the city, in Ascension parish. They later moved to Bridesburg to be near their grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed their retirement surrounded by family. Joe was an avid Philadelphia sports fan (especially the Eagles and Phillies) and loved to bet horse racing. He will be missed greatly but his family takes comfort that he is being reunited in heaven with his beloved Peg and their children.

Joe is the beloved husband of the late Margaret "Peg" (nee Elliott). Devoted father of Joseph, Lorrie, and the late Dolly and Bob. Loving Pop to Joe (Holly Jo), Lorrie (Tom), Jason (Courtney), and Robert. Great grandfather of Erica, Jaylin, Nathan, Bella, Alli, Layla, Gracie, Jackson, and Eva. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life Saturday October 21, 2023 beginning at 10am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 11am. In lieu of flowers and in honor of his late daughter Dolly, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Gift of Life Donor Program 401 N. 3rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19123.
