Joe was born in Philadelphia to the late Philip and Mary Twardowski Kober. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Joe was born in the Kensington section and spent his life in the neighborhood. He attended local schools and was a master carpet installer. He spent many years with Penner's Carpets.
He enjoyed spending time in Wildwood where he would fish and crab.
He was one of 11 siblings, all predeceasing him. Dear brother of the late Philip(Buttsy), John, James, Edward, William, Rose Cooper, Eva Zaroff, Phylis Kaznicki, Frances Cummiskey and most recently his twin Andy in 2024.
He is survived by his longtime companion Cheryl Dattilo. Father of Joann Kober, Michelle, Janice, Shannon and the late Joey Jr, Anthony (Porky) (Gina DiNofa-Kober) and Patricia Ann. Pops to Amanda, Nicole, Tiffany, Erin. Great Grandfather of Miles. Uncle of Richie Cooper, Mary Laynas, Eddie Cummiskey and Eva Goodman.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 beginning at 9:30 AM in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 E. SUSQUEHANNA AVE., FISHTOWN, where his Funeral Service will be at 11 AM. Joe will be laid to rest with his family in Oakland Cemetery at a later date.
