Joe was born in Philadelphia to the late Antonio and Conchetta Coco Misuraco. He passed away at Penn Medicine Hospice from complications relating to several underlying medical conditions.
Born in South Philadelphia, Joe was a member of St. Paul's Parish, at 9th and Christian Sts. He worked in the family produce store in the Italian Market prior to his entering the Army. He served in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. After his military service, he made Philadelphia his lifelong home. At this time, he was following his career track with Glaxo-Smith-Kline. After his retirement he and his husband traveled the world visiting historic archeological sites, a passion shared by both. Joseph frequently made contributions to his new home parish Of St. Francis Xavier in Fairmount. His generosity also endowed the Meredith Cochie Ross Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Florida, Gainsville.
His good heart and wit will surely be missed as we remember his favorite three words (whilst shrugging his shoulders) "Wha'ya gonna do "

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday April 6, 2022, beginning at 9 AM in the McELVARR FUNERAL HOME, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Fishtown, followed by a private interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
