Joseph D. O'Neill Sr.

Joseph D. O'Neill Sr. "Big Joe O'Neill Port Richmond" passed away on June 8, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Philadelphia on April 14, 1960 to the late Lawrence and Ronnie (nee Saucier) O'Neill. 

Joe is the beloved husband of over 30 years to the love of his life Debbie (nee Kucowski). Devoted father of Brittany (Pat), Cayce (Nick), Joey (Corey), Nicole (Ant), Alexis (Kev), and Ariana (Chris). Loving Pop-Pop to Ian, Mason, Savannah, Nicholas, Gracelynn, Caylum (who is due to arrive soon), Delaney, Declan, Mia, Tessa, Kevin, Lilly, Ryan, CJ, Cody and great grandfather of Delilah. Sadly missed by his furbaby Jax, his extended family, and many friends. 

Joe grew up in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia and later moved to Port Richmond, where he raised his own family. He worked as an operating engineer and was a proud member of Local 542 and Local 332. Joe was a proud Philly sports fan who loved all of his home teams, especially the Eagles. He also loved trips to Wildwood and camping trips with the family, where he would spend hours at the beach. More than anything, Joe loved his family and any time he could spend with them. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by all those who knew and loved him. 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life Saturday June 15, 2024 beginning at 9am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by his funeral mass at 10:30am.
