Judith Weney "Judy" (nee McCloskey) passed away at home on June 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 27, 1948.
Judith is the beloved wife of 55 years to the late James. Devoted mother of Jim (Dana), Denise, Lyn (Chris), Jeannie, and the late Sean (Shannon). Loving Mom-Mom to Bryant (Valerie), John, Nikolas, Haili (Colin), Kyle, Jourdon, Ceara, Regan, Payton, Teaghan, Seannie, and great grandmother of Bailey, Connor, Logan, and Nova. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Judy was raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan High School for Girls. After high school, she married the love of her life and was completely devoted to her family. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up so that she could be there for all of their needs. Later, she put herself through school and worked in healthcare until her retirement. In her downtime, Judy enjoyed trips to the casino and watching her beloved Philadelphia sports teams, as she was an avid fan. Judy was able to enjoy her first Eagles game with her boys and despite the pouring rain, she had the time of her life mostly because she cherished the time spent with her family. Judy will be greatly missed and her family takes comfort that she was surely greeted in heaven by her husband and son.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation and funeral Friday June 14, 2024 beginning at 9am in St. Anne Church 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 followed by her funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Fox Chase Cancer Center for the loving care and hope that they gave to Judy during her treatment.
