Kaitlyn "Kait" Opalka-Bright Obituary

Kaitlyn M. Opalka-Bright "Kait" sadly passed away on November 13, 2023 at the age of 32. She is the beloved wife of Dominic J. Bright Jr. Cherished daughter of Kathleen Donohue (Ken Shriver) and the late Anthony Opalka. Dear sister of Samantha Opalka-Arentzen (Robert), Shaunee Opalka-Zemczak (Frank), and Francis Mariner. Adoring aunt to Colin, Kendall, Grayson, Blake, Rowan, Torin, Macklin, Maddox, Emryn, Francesca, Ayden, and Gabriella. Loving daughter in law of Dominic and Joanne Bright and sister in law of Taylor (Zach) and Harley. Sadly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Kait was raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia and attended St. Laurentius Catholic School. She played soccer for Fishtown AC and continued through high school while attending John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls. Kait was a natural leader who was named captain of the team and awarded All-Catholic. She continued her education after high school and was just a few credits shy of receiving her master's degree in business from Thomas Jefferson University.

Kait's talents were not limited to the soccer field or classroom. She was a very creative and artistic person who could make just about anything. This led to her starting her own business of selling her creations. Kait was also very competitive, especially when it came to fantasy football. More than anything Kait loved her family and friends. She would do anything for anyone, especially the kids, her KaiterTots. To know Kait was to absolutely love her and because of this she made friends wherever she went. She will be forever missed and her memory will be cherished by all those in her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Saturday November 18, 2023 from 8:45-10:45am in St. Anne church (upper) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral mass 11am. Interment private.
