“Just a kid from Fishtown”
Kevin DiCesare, 62, of Fishtown, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. Born and raised in Fishtown, Kevin always carried pride in his roots and often described himself as “just a kid from Fishtown” — though to those who knew him, he was so much more.
Kevin was a devoted father to his daughter Ashley and son Kevin Jr., a proud grandfather to Layla, Mckala, Caiden, Thomas, Allie, a joyful great-grandfather to Mason. He was also the cherished fiancé of Maureen. Beloved son of Barbara and Joseph DiCesare, and the loving brother of Mark, Barbara, and Carleen. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, with whom he shared many cherished years.
A skilled mechanic and engineer, Kevin had a knack for fixing anything and a drive to keep learning. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking part in social gatherings, where his generosity, humor, and big heart always shone through.
Kevin was courageous, intelligent, ambitious, and endlessly compassionate — the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back for someone he loved. Above all, he was a true family man, whose greatest joy was seeing his loved ones happy and cared for.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Saturday November 15, 2025 beginning at 9:30am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street (at Berks) Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
Kevin will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his selflessness, strength, and the love he poured into everyone around him.
