It is with broken hearts that the family of Kevin Michael Pomroy Sr. announces his sudden passing on April 4, 2026, at the age of 46. He was born on November 26, 1979 and was a lifelong resident of the Kensington section of the city.
Kevin was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan living in the heart of Philadelphia Eagles territory, and he never cared who disagreed—he proudly stood by his team no matter who was around. He was known for telling it exactly like it was, sometimes so bluntly that his family would laugh and say, “You can’t put him on speaker.” He had a natural sense of humor, loved making people laugh, and seemed to have a nickname for just about everyone he knew.
Kevin was also an avid wrestling fan, especially of Hulk Hogan, and even gave himself the nickname “Kenzo Hulkster,” a name that fit his larger-than-life personality perfectly. Although he often came across as tough, those who knew him best understood that he was truly a big teddy bear at heart. He loved his children deeply and took pride in being there not only for them, but for the neighborhood kids as well—always willing to step in, help out, and be a father figure to anyone who needed him.
Kevin is the beloved husband of 28 years to Tina (nee White). Devoted father of Erick White (Cierra), Toriann Pomroy (Brandon), and Kevin Pomroy Jr. (Maria). Loving Pop-Pop of Aubrey, Erick Jr., Anabelle, Angelo, and Kevin III. Cherished son of Rose Kobierowski (Peter) and the late George Pomroy Sr. Dear brother of Donna Pomroy, Sherri Pomroy, George Pomroy Jr., Kristina Pomroy, Anthony Cruz, and the late John Lombardo. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Friday April 10, 2026 beginning at 11am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown), followed by his funeral service at 12:30pm.
