Lenora (Sohns) Henwood

Lenora Henwood (nee Sohns) passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024 at the age of 81. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Otto and Anna (nee Pompe) Sohns. 

Lenora spent her life devoted to her family and to her faith. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joan of Arc parish in Kensington and then Holy Innocents parish in Juniata, where she participated in many church activities and faithfully attended mass. Lenora also loved to read the Bible, ballroom dancing, and the color lilac. More than anything she loved her family and was proud of each and every one of them.

Lenora is the devoted mother of Shaun Henwood (Tara), Denise Laurelli-McCormick (Brian), Janine Mullen (Joseph), Colleen Baldwin (the late Chris Williams Sr.), Brian Henwood (Julia) and Timothy Henwood (Heather). Loving grandmom of Nicholas (Kristine), Jordan (Ray), Breanna, Candis, Anthony (Marissa), Alexis (David), James, Joseph III, David (Robie), Catherine (Mickey), Jonathan (Gabriela), Macrina, Brendan, Malachi, Mary-Kristina, Birgitta, Ian, Brittney, Julie, Heaven, Alyssa, Michael, Timothy Jr., Robert, Jason, and the late Haley. Dear sister of Elaine Gussoff (Joe) and Howard Sohns. Sadly missed by her 21 great grandchildren and her nephews Darrin and Jason Gussoff.

Funeral mass 10:30am in Holy Innocents Church “L” Street and East Hunting Park Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19124. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park Bensalem, PA 19124.
