Linda A. Newton passed away on August 28, 2025 at the age of 60. She was born on November 20, 1964 to the late Gilbert and Sarah (nee Cuthbert) Newton.
Linda was a proud lifelong resident of the Kensington section, a community she cherished deeply. Later in life, she relocated to Tobyhanna to embrace a more peaceful setting, though her roots and heart always remained tied to Kensington.
Adventurous in spirit, Linda lived by the motto, “nothing ventured, nothing gained.” She especially loved family outings, with trips to Knoebels being a treasured tradition shared with her children and grandchildren.
Linda will always be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her friends and family. She was the one who showed up no matter the reason, the life of the party who still made sure everyone got home safe. She cared for others’ children as if they were her own, and she was a trusted presence you could turn to in any moment, knowing she would make things feel okay.
Above all, the joy of Linda’s life was her children and grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Her love, strength, and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Linda is the devoted mother of Linda “Lynnie” Dzugan (Shane), Catherine “CJ” Petrucci (Charles), and Matthew Slonaker. Beloved wife of William “Bones” Petrucci. Loving Mom-Mom of Aiden, Chaz, Aubree, and Callie. Dear sister of Gilbert Newton, Sally Newton (Chris), Thomas Newton, Diane Hickey, and Russell Newton. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Thursday September 4, 2025 beginning at 1pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by her funeral service at 3pm. Interment private.
