It is with the utmost sadness we share with you, that our beloved Lino passed away on September 3, 2025.
Lino emigrated to the United States as a young child, settling with his family in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia.
He was a proud Italian American who learned the language, embraced the culture, and built a meaningful life rooted in hard work and love of family.
He worked as a truck driver/mechanic and was a dedicated member of Teamsters Local 470. Beyond his career, Lino had a lifelong passion for aviation. Whether flying, studying, or carefully building his own airplane, he was endlessly fascinated by all things related to flight. A self-taught craftsman, with hands of gold, he was meticulous, skilled, and always willing to put his talents to use for others. To his family, he was the dependable “go-to” person, ready to lend a hand with anything and everything.
Lino had a gift for making people feel welcome—there wasn’t a person who met him that didn’t like him. He was a loyal friend and a devoted family man. His greatest joy was his granddaughters, and once he retired, he was involved in every aspect of their lives. Affectionately known as Pop, he never missed a milestone or a softball game. No matter the circumstance, if they needed him, he was there without hesitation.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Lino is survived by Shelley Carter; his granddaughters Gianna and Gabriella ; his brothers Rino (the late Domenica), Julio (Ginny), and Bruno; his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his furbaby Lucy. He is preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Josephine, his wife Celeste, and his son Anthony.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life Saturday September 13, 2025 beginning at 12pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral service at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Peyton's Place Animal Rescue 317 Delsea Drive Sewell, NJ 08080 or https://peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/
