SERVICES POSTPONED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Luba Wojtiw (née Mostowa) passed away on January 26, 2021 at the age of 70. She is the beloved wife of Ludwik. Devoted mother of Jonathan (Karen), Lisa, Jimmy, and Joseph (Kate).Loving Grandmom of Alaina, Jon, Aaron, Riley, Alex, Joseph, Rylee, Christopher, Jayson, Kait, Josef, and great Grandmom of Ada Lynn. Dear sister of Stefanie, Irene, and Helen.
Luba emigrated to Philadelphia at the age of 1 and settled with her family in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. She remained here after getting married to raise her own children. She was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage and loved to share her culture with her family.
Luba was an honest loving women who was extremely devoted to her family and friends. Her life revolved around animals, feeding strays was her specialty. She was always up for fun adventures, a true caregiver to all. She adored all of her grandchildren including the neighborhood kids. Luba had a heart of gold with a laugh and smile that would spread to all. Once you became a friend to Luba she would always make sure you were well. No one would go hungry or be unhappy in her presence. She treated everyone as the favorite. Even on her worst day she always put your needs before her own.
She loved the beach and taking grandkids on trips to Smithville, making arts and crafts and ceramics. In her younger years she spent time gardening in the yard, swimming in the pool, and threw all the family parties.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday, February 5 , 2021 beginning at 9:30am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown). Funeral service 11am. We ask that all those attending services wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
