Marc J. Stewart

Marc J. Stewart passed away on August 14, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. Marc was born on August 18, 1961 to the late David and Patricia (nee Neals).

Marc grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and spent a few of his childhood years living in Pocono Summit. He later returned to Philadelphia and graduated from Frankford High School, Class of 1980. After high school, Marc entered the construction industry where he worked as a carpenter. He was very talented and could do everything from framing to finishing and everything in between. 

Marc enjoyed the outdoors and all of the activities that went with it, including crabbing, fishing, camping, and bow hunting. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Eagles and Flyers, and he looked forward to his football Sunday’s spent with friends and family. 

More than anything, Marc loved his family. He met the love of his life Patti and the two shared over 40 years together. They built a life together and raised their four children in the neighborhood where they grew up, even living on the two streets where they each grew up.  Marc left behind a legacy of children and grandchildren who loved him dearly. 

Marc will always be remembered as being the life of the party. He was a jokester and had an infectious, hearty laugh. He had a huge personality and would always tell you like it is, even when you didn’t want to hear it, but it always came from a place of love. He will be missed tremendously by all those who knew and loved him. 

Marc is the beloved husband of Patricia A. “Patti” (nee Quinlan). Devoted father of Philip Quinlan(Kristin), Candace Titus (Tim), Kimi Sinclair (Jim), and Marc A. (Julie). Loving Pop-Pop to Philip, Cameron, Zachary, Jacob, Anthony, Shane, Liz, Morgan, Logan, Lucas, Mike, Kenny, and Shaun. Dear brother of JoAnne Bell-Sokolski and the late David, Patricia Gallagher, and Michelle Whittaker. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life on his 62nd birthday, Friday August 18, 2023 beginning at 10:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests and appreciates any donations towards his final expenses in care of the funeral home.
