Margaret M. (Sofronski) Benner

Margaret Benner (née Sofronski) was born on April 15, 1944 and passed away at the age of 81 on December 23, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Sofronski; her siblings Charles and John; and her beloved sons James and Michael Haines.

Margaret is  the beloved wife of Howie Benner and a devoted and loving mother to John and Margaret Haines. She carried the memory of her late sons James and Michael Haines close to her heart.

She was a cherished sister to Tony, Victoria, and Thomas. Loving grandmother to Tia, James, Michael (Samantha), Kimberly, Brittany (Thomas), Eric, Justin (Gabrielle), Brandon (Brittany), Brianna (Ben), Frankie, Andrew, Nicholas, Marc, and her late grandchildren Ryan and Megan.

Margaret was also a proud great-grandmother to many, finding great joy in watching them grow. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, her enduring love, and the legacy she leaves through generations who were blessed to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Monday January 5, 2025 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by her funeral service at 11am. Interment Greenmount Cemetery.
