Margaret M. (Sosnowski) Harris

Margaret M. Harris (née Sosnowski) passed away at home on July 1, 2020 at the age of 59. She is the beloved wife of Joseph Harris Jr. Devoted mother of Alicia (Matt D’Imperio), Michael, and the late Joseph III. Loving sister of John Sosnowski (Jane), Diane Skinner (Jim), and Susan Sosnowski. Dear daughter in law of Marie Harris (late Joseph Sr.) and sister in law of Mary Orr (John) and Eddie and Billy Harris. Cherished caretaker of Joey Rayner. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. 

Margaret was born to the late John and Laura (née Okomski) Sosnowski and was raised in the East Kensington section of Philadelphia. She remained here after getting married and raised her own family just down the street from her childhood home. She worked as a nursing assistant which was a perfect fit since she loved caring for people. She was always looking to help someone down on their luck and would give someone the “shirt off her back”. She was also a sweet and outgoing person who enjoyed fishing and loved animals. She found joy in the simple things like cleaning on a Saturday while listening to Rod Stewart. Her family will miss her tremendously but they take comfort in knowing she will be reunited with her loved ones, especially her son.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday July 10, 2020 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11am.  In lieu of flowers and to honor Margaret’s giving nature, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the Pennsylvania SPCA or to the Pink Elephant Movement
