Margaret " Peggy" Gray

November 24, 1947 ~ April 19, 2021 (age 73)

Margaret Mary Gray “Peggy” passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old.  A cherished wife, mother and sister, Peggy is survived by her husband Gerald “Jerry” Gray Sr., to whom she was married for 54 years, and her brother John Berthcsi whom she cared for, for nearly 30 years after their father passed.
Peggy is mourned by her sons; Gerald “Jerry” Gray Jr. of Port Richmond and John Gray (Beth) of Mesa, Arizona. A treasured “MomMom,” Peggy will be greatly missed by her grandchildren; Kristen Gray, Frank Leo, Anthony Leo, Skylar Gray and Jocelyn Gray, and her great-grandchildren; Brendon Garcia, Makenzie Campbell and Bryce Campbell.
Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved daughter Christina Gray.
Peggy was born in Philadelphia.  She lived in Port Richmond on Lehigh Avenue, and Fishtown on Thompson Street.  Peggy loved the close-knit community of these neighborhoods, where she lived her entire life. She attended Saint Anne’s where she graduated with a business certificate.  As a homemaker, wife and mother, Peggy was devoted to her family and was always happiest when she was surrounded by her children, their children, their friends, neighbors, the neighbor's children...she was everyone's "MomMom."  She touched so many lives with her welcoming kindness and affection, brightening any room with her laughter and generous spirit.
Peggy’s family and friends will miss her immensely. They take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her daughter Chrissy, parents and loved ones who have gone before her.
A private family service will be held at Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home followed by interment at New Cathedral Cemetery, where she will Rest In Peace with her parents and grandparents.
