Margaret Rose Ulmer Obituary

Margaret Rose Ulmer "Margo", age 78, passed away on July 7, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Harry and Alberta (nee Phillips) and was a lifelong resident of the Flat Iron section of the city, In St. Anne's parish.

From a young age, Margo showed an unwavering devotion to her family. At just 16, she moved in with her sister Babe and her husband Tom and quickly became a second mother to Babe's children (Tommy, Chrissy “Louie”, Rosie, and Sam), offering unconditional love, support, and guidance that would shape their lives in countless ways.

A woman of simple joys, Margo had a deep passion for cooking, especially during the holidays. Cooking was her love language and she enjoyed preparing her favorite dishes for her family and, of course, always had plenty of sweets on hand. Margo found great joy in spending time with her friends at the Lutheran Settlement, where she participated in various activities and went on memorable trips. She also loved shopping and searching for her next great "treasure".

Margo will be remembered for her kindness, her strong family values, and her selfless nature. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will live in the hearts of those who knew her and her family takes comfort that she is being reunited with her parents, siblings and her "Chrissy".

In addition to her parents, Margo is preceded in death by her brothers Harry Ulmer (late Pat), George Ulmer (late Honey), Mickey Cram (late Joanne) and her sister Babe Maguire (late Thomas). She is survived by her siblings Richard Ulmer (late Christine), Buddy Cram (late Anne), Marion Spross (Tom), Theresa King (Jerry), and Ruth Anne Lowry (late Tom). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. While she was an amazing aunt to all, Margo was truly like a mother to her niece Samantha Cianciotti (Vince) and a second grandmother to their children Alex, Olivia, Vincent, and Ava.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Saturday July 12, 2025 beginning at 9:30am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral Mass 11am. Interment will be held at a later date, where Margo will be laid to rest with her family.
