Marie P. (Verbitski) Harris

Marie P. Harris passed away peacefully on February 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Harris Sr. Devoted mother of Mary Orr (John), Joseph Harris Jr. (late Margaret), Eddie Harris, Billy Harris, and the late Virginia Harris. Loving Gram "Gertie" to Jennifer Hendricks (Kurt), Alicia Harris (Matt D'Imperio), John Orr, Nicole Orr (Mike Donnelly), Michael, the late Joseph Harris III, and great grandmother to John, Kennedy, Michael, Elle, and Kaydence. Dear sister of Carol Weinert. Sadly missed by 3 nieces and extended family. 

Marie was raised in South Philadelphia and being a South Philly girl, loved the Mummers. She moved to Fishtown after being married and raised her own children there. Marie was a simple person who enjoyed spending time with family and a good cup of coffee. She loved to play bingo at St. Anne Church and also St. Anne Church at the shore, where she would go to enjoy bingo while on vacation. Her love of bingo also got her the nickname Gertie, which her family lovingly called her. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Tuesday March 2, 2021 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11am.
