Marie Litnak passed away peacefully and in the comfort of her home on May 27, 2025. She was born in Philadelphia to the late Edward and Marie (nee Bachman) O’Neill.
A very creative soul and lifelong resident of Fishtown, Philadelphia, Marie brought color, laughter, and imagination into the lives of everyone around her. With nimble fingers and a vibrant spirit, she crafted intricate dolls and designed unforgettable costumes for Mardi Gras and Halloween—first for her beloved son, and later for her cherished grandchildren. Every stitch told a story of love, joy, and tradition.
She had a keen eye for beauty and a natural talent for sketching, often found with pencil in hand as she watched her favorite programs on Channel 6. Whether sipping her favorite Dr. Pepper or relaxing with a little Southern Comfort, she always did things her way, with warmth and flair. Her home often echoed with the sounds of Elvis Presley, whose music brought her so much joy.
Family was everything to her. She gave each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren special nicknames, a personal touch that reflected her deep and unique love for each of them.
Marie is the beloved wife of the late George. Devoted mother of Frank (Colleen). Loving grandmother of Georgina (Ryan), Frank Jr. (Bianca), and Laura (Shane). Doting great grandmother of Robert, Ariana, Ryan, Rupert “Biscuit”, Jose “Zay Zay”, Giovanni “Tub Tub”, and Ireland Grace. Sadly missed by her extended family.
All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
