Marie A. Matt

Marie  was born in Atlantic City NJ to the late Michael Oprea and June Matt.  She passed away at her home on Saturday, surrounded by her loving family.  Marie was educated at St. Peter, the Apostle School, Penn Treaty Middle School and Kensington High.  

Her working career began at Chalmers Bag Co, then at the Rainbow Shops and finally at Foster's Pharmacy.

Marie loved holding  'court ' on block 'B' which was from a beach chair in front of her house. She enjoyed Casino trips to her home town of Atlantic City  and travelling to the Wildwood beaches.   Her furbabies were Bella, LuLu and Gizzy.  But most of all she loved spending with her grandchildren  Sianni,  Giovanni, Nikki, Louis and Marky.  

She was the beloved wife and soul-mate for 29 years to Joseph Vodopija,  devoted mother of Lisa Marie Matt  ( Omar ) and Daniel Steven Matt.  She  will be sadly missed by Barbara, Joanne, Johnny and Teddy Oprea and the Vodopija family.

Her viewing will be on Thursday June 4, 2020 beginning at 9 AM followed by her Service of Christian Burial at 11 AM, in the HUBERT M. McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 2357 East Cumberland Street, Phila.   Interment in Holy Sepulchre will follow.  For those desiring, memorial contribution may be made to defray funeral expenses.  Please be aware that strict CDC guidelines will be observed .  Face masks for guests will be required along with social distancing and no congregating in front of the funeral home.  Thank You for your cooperation.
