Marilyn R. O'Boyle passed away on April 14, 2026 at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late Clarence and Stella (nee Campion) Johns.
Marilyn was raised in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, where she developed a deep love of family and a strong sense of pride in her Irish heritage. She carried those values with her throughout her life, shaping the way she loved, gave, and lived each day.
Marilyn found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved to travel, spend time shopping, and challenge herself with crossword puzzles. An avid reader, she could often be found with a good book in hand, and she especially enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, a favorite pastime that brought her both comfort and fun.
She was a woman defined by grace, strength, and quiet selflessness. Marilyn was loving, intelligent, and fiercely independent—someone who did whatever was necessary to care for and provide for her family. Her unwavering dedication and resilience were evident in all she did.
Above all, Marilyn was an extraordinary Mother, Nana, and Great Nana. She was also a cherished sister, aunt, and friend. Her love was constant and unconditional, and her presence brought warmth and stability to those around her.
Marilyn’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and strength, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marilyn is the devoted Mother of Mary Lynn O’Boyle, Karen O’Boyle, John “Jack” O’Boyle, William “Bill” O’Boyle, and Diane Feiner (the late Ronald). Loving Nana to Jennifer Chrobocinski (Brian Wistner), Shea Haines (Chuck), Ashley Taylor, Danielle O’Boyle-Coburn (Colin Coburn), William O’Boyle (Stephanie), Justine Feiner, and Great Nana of Mia Wistner, Matthew Fite, Amelia Coburn, Benjamin O’Boyle, Audrey Hastings, Alma O’Boyle, and Conor Coburn. Dear sister of Clarence Johns (Joanne).
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation and funeral Saturday April 25, 2026 beginning at 9:30am in St. Anne Church (upper) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by her funeral mass at 11am. Interment will be at a later date.
