Mary P. (McGough) Krenski

Mary P. Krenski (nee McGough), Age 92, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2022 surrounded by her tight-knit family.  Beloved wife of the late Walter, Sr. Loving mother of Walter, Jr. (the late Sharon), Ronald (Lisa), Jeffery (Denise), Diane (Michael) Daly, Janet (John) Feler, Scott (Jackie), Dawn (Ceasar) Bautista, Susan (Ron) Zalis. Cherished grandmother to 18 grandchildren and Devoted great grandmother to 10 great grandchildren.  Loving sister to John McGough and predeceased by siblings Charles and Peter Kent, Joseph and Edward McGough and Patricia Wonderlin.  Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

"Grandma Mary’s" name is synonymous with home, love, safety and hope.  One of Fishtown’s finest, Mary’s big welcoming smile will live with us through its existence on a wall mural at the Lutheran Settlement home, her home away from home in her later years. Mary worked hard her entire life, was a fierce supporter of all of her family and had a faith and resilience that helped keep her large family strong and close. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Monday May 9, 2022 from 7-9pm and Tuesday May 10, 2022 from 9-10am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown). Funeral mass 10:30am in Holy Name of Jesus Church 701 Gaul Street (at Berks). Interment Beverly National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Holy Name of Jesus Church.
