Mary Anne Maui passed away on June 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She earned her wings after she fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is the devoted mother of Samantha Doman Ewerth (David), Patty Doman, and Erik Doman (Nicole). Loving Nana of Joey, Hayden, and Logan. She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Anna Mae (née Hawco) Maui and her brothers Michael and Eugene Maui. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Mary Anne grew up in Lower Kensington in the neighborhood fondly known as “Cione”. She graduated from St. Anne Business School and went on to be one of the hardest workers there were, many times working multiple jobs to support her children and give them anything they wanted and needed. She worked in local factories, was a waitress, and also worked in a few of the local corner stores. Everyone in the neighborhood knew and loved her. When not working, Mary Anne loved being at the campground, which was her shore house and happy place. She loved going to the beach, which could be attributed to her Hawaiian heritage, and loved being there with her family.
Mary Anne will always be remembered for her loyalty to friends and family and her fierce love of her children. Everything she did, she did for them. She had a wonderful sense of humor and if you knew her well, you knew she had a wild side. Mary Anne was truly amazing and her family will remember her as the strongest woman they know. They will miss her painfully but they take comfort in knowing she will be reunited with her family who has gone before her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Thursday June 24, 2021 beginning at 9:30am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11am. Interment private.
