Mary Frances (Eib) Rieser

Mary Frances Rieser (nee Eib) passed away on March 29, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was 80 years old. 

Mary was born on October 19, 1942 to the late William and Catherine (nee McGovern) Eib. She is the beloved wife of the late Gerald. Devoted mother to Joseph, Colleen Trindle (John), Kimberly, Sean (Annette), and Eric (Jenny). Loving Mom-Mom to Alex, Gillian, Grace, Madison, Sean, Cole, Fionn, Rosaleen, and Cashel. Sadly missed by extended family and friends. 

Mary was a lifelong resident of the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Mary was married to Jerry for 53 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was cooking everyone’s favorite meal at Thursday night family dinners or playing board games around the dinner table.  She especially enjoyed her beloved grandchildren.  She was present for every show, graduation, and life event for them.

Mary enjoyed watching the Phillies and her favorite British detective shows as well as the nightly Pennsylvania lottery drawing.  She loved her “scratchy tickets”.  Mary also was gifted at crocheting and enjoyed making blankets for her family and gifting many of her lovely baby blankets. Mary will be remembered most especially for all of her funny faces she made that kept her family  laughing.  

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Wednesday April 5, 2023 from 8:30-10am in St. Anne Church (lower) 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral mass 10:30am in St. Anne upper church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to the FOP Lodge 5 Survivor’s Fund.
