Mary Elizabeth Quigley (nee McLaughlin) "Mary Beth" passed away at home on April 19, 2025 at the age of 66. She was born on June 13, 1958 to the late Francis and Regina (nee McGovern) McLaughlin.
Mary Beth was raised in the Flat Iron section of Philadelphia, in St. Anne's parish. She attended St. Anne School and then John W. Hallahan High School for Girls, from which she graduated Class of 1976. After, Mary Beth worked for many years as a Teacher's Aide in the Philadelphia public schools and also worked at various summer camps. She loved this work as it afforded her the opportunity to work with children and they loved her for her bubbly personality, her kind heart, and her infectious laugh. Mary Beth simply loved people. She was personable and talkative and would strike up a conversation with anyone she would meet. To know her, was to love her.
Always one to remain steadfast in her faith, Mary Beth stayed close to the Lord no matter what struggles she had in her life. When her health declined and she could no longer attend mass, she would listen to her prayers at home and always looked forward to visits from her parish priest. She always made sure to include everyone in her prayer intentions, as she always put others before herself. Mary Beth was especially selfless when it came to her family. She would do anything for any of them and cherished her time spent with them, especially her grandson.
She is the beloved wife of Joseph F. Quigley Jr. Devoted and loving mother of Joseph F. Quigley III (Amber), Maureen "Reenie" Quigley, and also to her adopted Polish son Rich Majkut. Adoring Gram of Little Joey. Cherished Baby sister of Francis McLaughlin (Anne), Michael McLaughlin (late MaryEllen), Thomas McLaughlin (Cass), Jean Marie Batavick (Andy), Margaret Rad, and Anne Marie Glasgow (Fred). Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews, her extended family, and her furbaby Cletus.
