Maryann F. O’Malley (Gapsis), age 70, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2025. She is the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. O’Malley Jr. Devoted mother of Maryann O'Malley (late John Adamski), Thomas H. O'Malley III, Joseph O'Malley (Kate), Karen Omelchuk (PJ), and the late Theresa O'Malley. Loving Mom-Mom of Hayley, Kaden, Mya-Jade, and Chase.
Maryann dedicated her life to helping others, working as a teacher’s aide for the Philadelphia School Board and giving her time as a softball coach for the Port Richmond Tigers. A proud and passionate Philadelphia sports fan, she never missed a chance to cheer on her teams. Maryann was also an animal lover, always showing kindness and compassion to every creature she met. A lifelong resident of Port Richmond, she was deeply loved by her neighbors, who knew her as someone who was gentle, caring, and always looking out for others. Above all, she was devoted to her family, who were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday October 3, 2025 beginning at 9am in Nativity BVM Church 2535 East Allegheny Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19134, followed by her funeral mass at 10:30am.
