Meagan A. Diaz (nee Murray) passed away on February 26, 2023 at the age of 46. She is the beloved wife of the late Raymond Diaz Jr. Devoted mother of Marissa Zito (Vince), Alexandria Rose Negron, and Raymond Diaz III. Loving grandmother to her grandbaby who is on her way (Meagan was so excited to meet her!). Cherished daughter of Doris (nee Shelton) and the late James Murray. Dear sister of the late James Murray. Sadly missed by her godson Tommy, her extended family, and her childhood best friends Michelle, Karen, Julie, and Kelly.
Meagan was born and raised in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. She enjoyed her childhood and the friends she met along the way. She spent a lot of her time roller skating at the roller rink. It was there that she began her love of freestyle music, which continued on throughout her life. She also loved to dance and made appearances on Dance Party USA with her friends during high school.
When Meagan became a mom, she devoted her life to her kids. She loved her kids more than anything and also her two furbabies, her cats. She loved to take care of them and her home, even her garden on Oakmont Street. She liked to cook and was the best at doing so but also enjoyed going out for a fancy, expensive dinner or even to Las Margaritas with family or friends.
Meagan truly enjoyed life and was always excited to plan her "festivities", which she called all of the fun things she planned. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, because it meant time spent with family, and she threw the best parties at her Oakmont street home. She looked forward to trips to the mountains or to the shore. Meagan even appreciated the simple things in life like watching her shows Live PD, 90 Day Fiance, or The Bachelor while eating tubs of ice cream.
Megan will always be remembered for her messy bun and oversized glasses but more for the beautiful person that she was. She was hilarious and goofy. She loved helping people and making things good for everyone, always. She will be missed tremendously and her family takes comfort that she is being reunited in heaven with her loved ones who have gone before her, especially her husband, father, and her brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Friday March 3, 2023 beginning at 6pm in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125. Funeral service 7:30pm. Interment private.
