Michael D. Soder

Michael Daniel Soder, age 45, was unexpectedly called t0 rest on February 1, 2021. Michael is the son of the late Thomas Soder and the late Deborah Dougherty. Dear brother of Lisa Dougherty Doyle (Mike), Richard Volz, Paul Volz, and the late Victoria Volz. Michael is survived by his beloved son and best friend, Shane M. Soder. Michael was raised in Philadelphia and spent his recent years in Norristown, PA, where he resided with his longtime friend Jennifer Marnell and her son, Austin Lemke. Jennifer is mother to his son Shane, whom he is most proud of.  Michael loved his family and was a loyal friend to many. Most know him as an A&Y street soldier who would protect and defend those he cared for without hesitation. Underneath his armor was a kind, gentle man with a beautiful smile and a goofy sense of humor. Michael fought a long, hard battle, lowered his weapon, put on that familiar grin, extended his hand to the Lord, then took on his much needed rest. Michael is sadly missed by his close family members and friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation and funeral Friday February 12, 2021 beginning at 7pm in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. Private funeral service 8:30pm.

We ask that all those attending services wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
