Michael R. Yancer

Michael R. Yancer passed unexpectedly on October 2, 2023, ten days after his mom and ten days before his 61st birthday.

Michael was the oldest son of James P. Yancer, Sr. and Margaret F. McIntyre (nee Boyle). He was predeceased by his son, Steven Donnelly. Michael will be sadly missed by his siblings: Lisa (Ronald Krenski), James P., Jr. (Christina), JoAnn (Joseph Gillespie) and Carol Ann. He was uncle to Robert, Kayleigh and Payton Kane, Kate, Joseph and Nolan Gillespie, Paige Yancer, Erin and Loren Meyers and the late Megan Meyers.

Michael was very kind and cared for both his ailing parents prior to their deaths. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Michael also loved animals, particularly dogs. He was a bit on the mischievous side and the family was told that he “gave the nuns a run for their money” in grade school. He gave his parents a run for their money also!

Michael lived his entire life in Philadelphia and attended Holy Name School and Frankford High School. Michael was a jack of all trades. He was a mechanic and loved tinkling with cars and other electronics. He worked at Comcast for a short time. He enjoyed repairing computers for family and friends. Michael enjoyed hard rock music, particularly Van Halen, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, Tom Petty to name a few.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. at St. George Hall, 2700 E. Venango Street, Philadelphia, PA 19134.
