Michael E. " Mickey " Walls

Michael E. Walls, Sr., “Mickey,” passed away at the age of 70, on May 22, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He is the beloved husband of Marinia Lee. Devoted father of Michael (Brooke), Dolores Misko (Joseph) and Brandon. Mickey was a devoted, loving Pop of Ariana, Savannah, Aidan, Kaylyn, Demi and Michael. Loving son of the late George and Marie (nee Innocenti). Dear brother of Marie Brown (Karl) and the late John and Albert “Butchie.” He is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Mickey was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. He was a roofer for over 30 years and a member of Roofer’s Union Local 30 until he became the proud owner of Honesty Roofing, that later merged with People’s Roofing, which he acquired upon the death of his brother John. And after a hard days work, you would often find him on his porch, enjoying a cold beer with friends/co-workers. He had been the Democratic Committeman from the 25th Ward back in the late 80's and into the 90's. 
Mickey was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. Spring time also opened up to one of his favorite pastimes, fishing. A tradition Mickey began was a Father’s Day fishing trip with friends and family. Mickey also took great joy in his many road trips and family vacations. Mickey’s greatest joy were his grandchildren. 

He will be remembered by many for his great sense of humor and friendly, easy-going personality. Mickey will be greatly missed by his family and many friends that he has made throughout the years. We know he’ll be waiting for us, ready to share a cold one, when we meet again.”

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and share in celebrating Mickey's life on Saturday June 12th, 2021 beginning at 9:30 AM in the HUBERT M. McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 2357 East Cumberland Street, 19125, where Prayers and Words of Remembrance will begin at 11 AM. Further arrangements will be Private.
