Norma Jean Turino - Craparotta

Norma Jean Turino - Craparotta was born on October 30, 1960 to the parents of Norma Lydia Murray and Frank Turino. Norma is survived by her 6 siblings - Deborah, Mary, Frances, Lisa, Frank and the late Joann. Norma is the loving mother of her 3 sons David, Christopher and the late Theodore (Teddy). She is the amazing Grandmother with a host of grandchildren whom she loved and cherished every moment with. She's survived by many Nieces and Nephews who describe her as the fun aunt. 

Norma was raised in the Feltonville section of the city, where she attended school at St. Ambrose and Cardinal Doughtery. Later Norma moved to Kensington to raise her sons, that's where she  fell in love with Shawn McConnell who joined her in raising her boys. Even though Shawn's life was taken too soon, he had a huge impact on the boys lives. He was loving, a provider and enjoyed spending quality time with them and Norma. Years after, she was briefly married to Joe Craparotta. When Norma moved to Fishtown that's where she met Tom Allen, with whom she spent the last years of her life with. 

Norma was a fun, loving, happy young girl. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, spending time together and making memories. She had a huge heart and an incredible personality. Her sense of humor was fantastic and she loved to laugh. To Norma, family was everything and she loved unconditionally. She gave her support whenever needed. Nothing compared to the love and pride she had for each of her Sons and Grandchildren. 

Upon her passing, Norma will be greatly missed by so many who came in contact with her. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Sunday August 13, 2023 from 7- 9 PM in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland Street Philadelphia PA 19125. There will be a Prayer Service and Words of Remembrance at 8 PM.
