Paul Hinkie Obituary

Paul J. Hinkie passed away on July 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Howard and Irene "Rene" (nee McCloskey) Hinkie. He was raised in the Port Richmond section of the city, in Our Lady Help of Christians parish, where he remained throughout his life. He attended Our Lady of Confidence Day School and Hall-Mercer Life Skills Center. Paul was the loving brother of the late Patricia Helder, Timothy Hinkie, and Howard "Sam" Hinkie. He is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews as well as his extended family.

Paul lived a very happy life.  He always wanted to have family around, that was,  until he was done with with them. Then he would go back to his “man cave” where he had a large amount of presents that he had received through out his  life. His most important was his wrestlers and his championship belt, along with all of his memorabilia. He loved music, movies, pictures, and any kind of bank. This was all his "stuff" and no one was allowed to touch it. As a family, we listened to, sang to, and acted out the Disney movies. That was all important to him. On that one occasion he would let you borrow a CD or movie he would stalk , asking “are you done yet” every half hour until it was given back. He just had his ways. He would give people money to buy Gram a present but he wanted the money and the present to given back to him. We could never get him to understand that one. Paul loved having family parties. He always wanted to be with “the kids”. He loved when his nieces and nephews were around except if they didn’t know about the "don’t touch his stuff". However, he has sacrificed some toys and stuff out of his closet for his great nieces and nephews. Even his great great niece will get a chance to get in that closet once she is mobile. Even for one of his wrestlers. Paul will be missed and forever loved by all who knew and loved him.
