Richard "Rich" D. Bucher

Richard D. Bucher "Rich" passed away on March 4, 2021 at the age of 70. He is the beloved husband of Susan L. (nee Cameron). Devoted father of Carmella Cappetti (Charles), Michelle Bucher (Robert Olsen), and Danielle Randall. Loving grandfather to his grandchildren and his great grandaughter. Dear brother of Brenda Frederico (Joe), Chad Bucher, JoAnn Freeman (Steve), Steve Sheppard, the late Evelyn Brown (Tom) and brother-in-law of Nancy Cameron, Tommy Cameron, Cathy Fry (Chris), Bobby Fry, David Fry (Donna), and the late John Cameron. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Rich was a United States Navy veteran and was always proud of his time serving his country. He would humorously refer to himself as a  "jack of all trades and master of none" and he worked hard for years as a truck and van driver.  Rich loved his time spent in the outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed watching war documentaries and loved to talk about these topics. Rich owned a Harley Davidson and loved to ride. He utilized his joy of riding to help others by participating in charity rides such as Toys for Tots. He also rode with the VFW Riders. He was the co-founder of Food for Troops, which sent over 5000 care packages to the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.  His family will always remember his larger than life personality, his funny sense of humor, and his quick wit, sarcasm, and his ability to talk to anyone about anything. He will be missed most for being a devoted husband, loving dad and grandfather, protective brother, and a true and loyal friend to all.  

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Thursday March 11, 2021 beginning at 10am in the Hubert M. McBride Funeral Home 2357 East Cumberland St. Philadelphia PA 19125. Funeral service 11:30am. His interment will be very private and held at a later date in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
