Richard “Rick” E. Dundon

Richard E. Dundon passed away peacefully in his Philadelphia home on June 29, 2022 at age 70. Rick was born to James and Lillian Dundon on June 1, 1952 and was a lifelong Fishtown resident. He attended Girard College before becoming a truck driver and owned a neighborhood deli for almost 20 years. 
 
Rick will be fondly remembered for many things including his love of horses and his ability to tell a great story, which usually ended in a laugh at his own expense. He wore his heart on his sleeve and never missed an opportunity to tell you how he felt (good or bad!). He enjoyed a good cup of black coffee, walking along Kelly Dr., and people watching. In his final years, he gained the most joy from spending time with and hearing stories about his 4 grandchildren. 
 
Rick is preceded in death by his father, James E. Dundon, his mother, Lillian Dundon (Sperath), and his brother, Bruce Dundon. He is survived by his children, Karen (Frederick) Liebner and Nicholas (Tiffany) Dundon and his grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial gathering Saturday October 15, 2022 beginning at 10am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. (Fishtown) Philadelphia PA 19125. Words of Remembrance will begin at 11am.
