Rita M. (Fitzgerald) Anderson

Rita M. Anderson (nee Fitzgerald) passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2021. She was 90 years old. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Devoted mother of Thomas (Donna), Don (Carol), Rita, and the late James. Loving Gram of Tom (Christie), Amanda (Matt), Adam (Ashley), Ryan, Dawn, Mark, and GiGi of Azlynn, Trey, Aliza, Jimmy, Nolan, Mia, Lucas, Matthew, Lexi, Tori, and Lindsay. Predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Rita will be remembered for being a beautiful and caring person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved to dance, especially the jitterbug, with her sister Cass. She loved plain and peanut M&M's and chocolate in general. Rita was a hard worker and worked along side her husband at their family business for many years. This came easy as the two were inseparable.  They would take trips together every January or February and loved their time spent together. Rita was also a devout Catholic and hated to miss Church. Most of all, Rita loved her family and they were most important to her. She will be deeply missed but her family takes comfort that she will be reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her, especially her husband and son. 

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and funeral Thursday August 12, 2021 from 8:30-9:30am in Maternity BVM Church 9220 Old Buselton Ave. Philadelphia PA 19115. Funeral Mass 9:45am. Interment 11:30am Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Holy Redeemer Hospice 12265 Townsend Rd. Philadelphia PA 19154
