Robert J. Helmar

Robert was born in Philadelphia to the late Joseph and Katherine Krynski Helmar.  He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. 

A dedicated businessman with a passion for automobiles from a young age, he set out and succeeded in building a happy and comfortable life, one guided by the belief that if you loved what you did, you never worked a day in your life. Hardworking, innovative and deeply kind, his presence shaped many of us in ways both large and small. He leaves memories to those close to him will cherish forever. 

Pop led with his heart. He poured passion into everything he did and everything he set out to experience- his love for cars, time at the campground, his many hobbies and collections and most especially his wife who meant the world to him.  His quiet strength, compassion and steady love have given all of us the foundation and courage to be who we are today. 

And above all, thank you, for being our best friend.

Robert is the beloved husband of the late Thelma 'Bunni' Cunningham Helmar. Devoted father of Robert Helmar (Kim), Sandy Goebel (Bill), Craig Helmar (Dawn Glinkowski), Karen Helmar-Vetter and David Helmar (Jeanne Rogovin).  Grandpop of Robert, Dezarae, Brittany, Bill, Lexus, Brandon, Ashley, Nicole, Matthew, Daniel and Anastacia.  Great grandpop of Kiersten, Elena, Lauren, Robert and Zoe'. Great great grandpop of Brexley and Leilanie.
