Robert Vodopija “Bobby” passed away suddenly at home on May 9, 2023, at the age of 51. He was the beloved long-time companion of Liz Kozlowski. Loving son of the late Marian Vodopija. Dear brother of Louie (Maureen), Charlene Alicea (David), and the late Joseph and Mark Vodopija. Cherished uncle of Melissa Petrowski (Christopher), Erica (Sean), Sarah, Nicholas. Great uncle to Aaron. Sadly missed by his extended family.
Bobby was a lifelong resident of Fishtown and Port Richmond. He was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back. The type of person that if he had it, he would give it. He enjoyed fixing cars, fishing, crabbing, and camping at Belleplain State Forrest on his free time. He loved his animals, especially his dogs Rocky, Goldie, Rusty, Bear and Shadow who brought him lots of joy throughout the years. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan who supported all his hometown teams, especially the Eagles.
Bobby was a longtime employee of Service Master and MCL Cleaning as a hard-working custodian. He will be greatly remembered as a kind, sweet, loving, and considerate person who enjoyed making people laugh and smile. He had a great sense of humor and was well liked by everyone who met him. To know Bobby was to love him and he will be greatly missed, but his family knows that he is welcomed into heaven with open arms from his mother and brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Wednesday May 17, 2023 beginning at 10:30am in the McElvarr Funeral Home 1415-17 East Susquehanna Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125 (Fishtown). Funeral service 12pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
