Ronald David Caffey, 55, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away unexpectedly on October 15th, 2024.
Son of Jane (Custodio) Caffey and Roy O. Caffey Jr.; Brother to Roy (spouse Insuk), Jane (spouse Armando Torres), the late Christopher, Anthony, and Matthew; loving Father to son Robert and daughter Michelle; Uncle to Steven, Sara, Brandon, Joshua, Gabriela, Anabella, Ryan, Scarlett, Austin, David, and Stella; Loving Partner to Dawn Krezel; Grandfather to Ems; loved by Erin, Kip, and Alex; a number of cousins, extended family, and countless friends as well.
Born in San Diego, CA he lived within many states across the U.S. and briefly in Greece, before making Philadelphia home.
A social butterfly with a heart of gold, who had a magical effect on people. When he wasn’t in his workshop, he was out in the neighborhood helping others repair or move stuff, putting something together, or simply lending an ear and good company. He could fix a car just as well as a good meal in the kitchen and always made plenty of food to share with others. Ron was a lover of music, caretaker of animals, an adamant fisherman, loved to highlight verses in the Bible, and a steadfast friend. Whether you asked or not, he was there to support you if he thought you needed help. He wasn’t one to ask for favors or help in return. That’s who he was, kind, loving, and generous.
Family and friends are invited to his memorial service at McElvarr Funeral Home, 1415-17 East Susquehanna Avenue, Philadelphia, PA on Saturday, October 26th, 2024, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Services will be followed by a celebration of Ron’s life with friends and family at Dawn Krezel’s home (details provided at the service).
