Ronald J. Reilly

Ronald Reilly passed away on the morning of January 24th. He was the devoted husband of the late Anna “Nancy” Reilly, beloved father of Ron Reilly (Laurie), Sharon McCloskey (Tim), and Kevin Reilly, and adored grandfather of Shane Reilly, Brigid Reilly, Timothy McCloskey, and Grace Reilly.

Ron, known as “Pop” by his grandkids, was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia. He showed his love for the city through his avid support of Philly sports (Go Birds!) and by dedicating 20 years of Police service to his community. He raised his 3 children alongside his wife Nancy, where he worked hard to provide the best life possible for his family. However, his proudest accomplishment in life was becoming Pop. He absolutely adored all four of his grandchildren and not a single day went by where they didn’t feel his love. Pop would do anything to make them laugh, including pretending to race their car as they drove off, making a joke at the expense of their parents, and singing goofy songs.

Ron was able to spend the last few decades of his life at his favorite place: the Jersey shore. He could be found dancing with Nancy to Frank Sinatra or having breakfast with her at the Star Diner, happily taking his grandkids mini golfing or fishing, or walking his dog while enjoying the ocean breeze.

Ronald “Pop” Reilly had a special talent for lifting the mood in any room and putting a smile on anyone’s face with his quick-witted humor. He was an excellent father and an extraordinary grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Monday February 3, 2025 beginning at 9:30am in St. Anne Church 2328 East Lehigh Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19125, followed by his funeral mass at 11am.
